Tip of the Day #33: Gift Graciously

Most brides today will create a wedding registry for gifts they hope to receive for starting their new married life.  Although it is a sure bet that the bride will love your gift if chosen off of a registry of hand-picked items, I am really into customizing gifts for brides.  Here are a few of my favorite custom gifts for brides with a personalized touch.

Erin Condren Life Planner

If your bride-to-be gal pal is the type of woman that loved shopping for school supplies as a kid (and has truly embraced her role as a wedding planner), this is the perfect gift!  Erin Condren has the most amazing customizable life planner with color coded day at-a-glance pages, monthly calendars, stickers for marking important events, a pocket for business cards and notes, and a user friendly layout.  The covers of the planner can be customized with a photo of the newlyweds to-be as well as the bride’s new name.

State Cutting Board

If the bride loves to entertain, AHeirloom’s Etsy shop is the perfect stop for a beautiful custom state cutting board.  Each board is custom made and you can request to have a heart put in the city of your choice – perhaps where the bride and groom met or shared their first date.

Personalized Party Tub

This gift is another great idea for the bride who likes to host parties or is just the resident party animal.  The tub can be customized with the bride’s new last name.  While gifting, the tub is a great vessel for holding household items like new towels or housewares and then can later double as a beverage cooler for outdoor parties.

Custom Address Stamp

The custom address stamp is a great gift for a bride and groom who have recently moved in together or bought a new home.  The return address stamp is self-inking and can also be used for the bride’s thank you notes after her bridal shower and wedding.

Honeymoon Gift Bag

For some brides, the honeymoon is an afterthought with all of the excitement of planning a wedding.  I love the idea of ordering an L.L.  Bean or beach canvas tote with a bride’s new initials and filling it with honeymoon goodies like beach towels, sunglasses, suntan lotion, a cover up, flip flops and magazines.

And, when in doubt, give the bride cash money, honey!
